From an early age, I turned to bodywork to address my Scoliosis and other structural hiccups. When I was 11, I threw my neck out so severely that I was unable to turn my head to either side without excruciating pain. After being stuck on the couch in a giant foam neck brace for several days, I began to see a chiropractor, who, after only 4 sessions, was able to alleviate the symptoms, fix the problem, and educate me on how to avoid this same issue in the future. The relief that I experienced sparked within me a passion to help others on their path to healing.
I graduated from Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in 2010 and have since pursued continuing education in Reiki, Reflexology, Arthritis, hot stone treatment, and cupping, just to name a few, as well as herbs and pharmaceuticals and their relationship to massage.
I am passionate about using alternative approaches to alleviate the stress and pain we all face and largely learn to ignore, just to get by. I rely equally on my knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and my well-trained intuition, to assess and address problem areas, determine the source of the issue, and give you the tools to prevent it from returning. Combining Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, energy channeling, and injury treatment techniques, my focus in each session is to return the body back to its maximum movement potential.
I strive to provide a safe, enjoyable, and healing environment and I guarantee honest and open communication. Each session is client-centered and driven, and I feel strongly that healing is a 3 way conversation between you, your body, and I.
